thank God for Malaysia!!

last night, i watched a very touching story called "Hotel Rwanda" by chance..me n hubby flipped thru the channels to find something worthy to watch n we came upon this movie..its actually a movie set in Rwanda,i think ard 1990,where wars against 2 clans, Hutu n Tutsi(funny names hah!!)were a normed, but it worsen as the years go by,mass massacres everywhere, children scared out of their wits…seeing the movie made u realized that we r lucky to live in a country where u can just go out from ur hse whenever u want to without being scared of somebody stabbing u at the back..(unless u borrowed from any Along!!)..so,let us be grateful and thankful that we were born in a peaceful country like Malaysia..Happy 50th Merdeka,Malaysia!!

R.I.P

this morning was just another usual morning..but dina woke us up quite early which is around six a.m..my habit was everytime i’m awake i would check the handphone juz to see if there’s any messages or missed calls.yela..kan duduk jauh from family and frens, obviously i would like to be in the know,so now, the phone is my best friend(thank God for phones!!)..nways, the message i received this morning was a sad one..my great grandmother, whom would turn 98 this March has passed away peacefully at 1.30a.m(according to my bro’s msg)..innalillah…Kenek(as all the ‘cicits’ called her)breathe her last breath with her 4 daughters with her..alhamdulillah they said it was easy.I’m quite glad that i managed to see her last week at the hospital before we went back to Kluang..i remember thinking that her hands was soft when i salam her and she muttered to my Wan,"Abah ado kek dopan tu,tapi x payah bg dio masuk"(my mom hailed from Rembau,N9,hence the loghat)ok..Kenek was saying that she saw her husband/father(x sure)whom passed away for quite sometime, in front of her..u know la sometime those who are in the verge of dying would say some weird stuff, rite??

so after i read the msg, we went straight to kl,dragging dina along.luckily she wasn’t fussy at all..when we arrived, all the family members(BTW,Kenek is the eldest daughter of 12 siblings and when her mother passed way,her father remarried and got another 12 children,so i’ve got a very large extended family) gathered around the jenazah..alhamdulillah we were on time and i get to kiss her forehead before my Wan close Kenek’s face for good..

there goes the 1st daughter of the 1st generation of the Penghulu Haji Bakar family..mine u, i’m the 5th generation and she even came to my wedding  and best yet,she came to see me when i had my baby!!i would say not many of us would be able to live and witness your family grows like she does..

imagine getting into her memory box..so many stories, happy and sad moments in her life..if only we could keep all that like we saved our data in the thumbdrive,hmm..

May ALLAH blessed her soul and others who have gone before us…Al-Fatihah

i went to Midvalley just now with my hubby, lil’ dina, my brother& sister.the reason was to meet up with our insurance agent coz she’s supposed to give us dina’s policy.

nways, as soon as we got there, one of the first shop we went was Esprit, fair enuf..as i was browsing thru, i saw some belts which was put together with some handbags..i looked at the handbags and found myself holding the belts..the belts are at the bottom shelf and when i’m trying to put back the belt, that’s when i saw a sign at the back saying "Pigskin Lining"..Double shucks!!!!!i was dumbstruck, i didn’t know what to do!!so i told my hubby and he’s not sure too..then i called my sister, dot.she said, oh, it happen to a friend of hers ones.what we did was we took some tanah dalam pasu tu, (usually shopping malls nowadays will have greens around,rite..)and we put them inside a plastic bag. after that, we went to the toilet and washed away the "remainings"..phew,dot to the rescue..(BTW,u can do this if it happen to u,ok..)

after the incidence, i went back to the shop and went straight to the salesperson at the counter coz i thought its better for me to tell them that they shud put the sign in front or at least place it where everyone can see it easily..instead of saying sorry, she told me that i shud’ve checked first before touching it in the first place..HELLO, the sign was right at the back, how was i suppose to know!!!talk about customer service!!

maybe that’s what lacking with us malaysians..our customer services are just third world mentality..the salesperson should have said sorry first, instead she even has the nerve to say that there wasn’t enuf space to put the sign on the front..alahai,menyampahnye dengar…i just walked out and that’s when i heard her saying thank u and sorry..DUHH!!!

New Year 2007

December 17th, 2006 by amy118

2007,so what to expect this year around??some would say they’ll be getting married, some would say i’m aiming for that promotion or just counting the days that their babies are due and there’s also some who would say i’ll just go with the flow, ait…as for me, the year 2005 was the year i got married and the year 2006 was the year the stork came and gave me a bouncing baby gal..love u dina!!

nways, hopefully this new year, the house that we bought will be completed and we’ll be able to decorate it,yea!!but of course that will come with a hefty price..actually, i dun really have ideas on house decoration, will it be Bali style, or English style blah,blah,blah..but i do know that i want it to have a "homey feeling" whenever i come home to it..and the other thing is that, we are living in Kluang, so the question here is that, are we really going to stay there???hmm…i kinda like the idea of having ur own house to do as u please tho…

and then, there’s the weddings…the close cousins weddings..one will be in March and the other probably in July..weddings are fine but u have to prepare the baju, that’s the malas part..and with baju i mean the whole package, the color, the accesorries etc..and now that i’ve got a family, i have to think about my hubby and daughter’s baju too..

speaking about baju..what’s with women and clothes??u would think that we’ve got baju in every color and yet we still need to buy new ones everytime??but that’s the fun part and i know its something that men won’t fully understand…hey, i bet that even Beyonce Knowles would have a time when she says "i dun have anything to wear", and we are quite sure that she probably has a whole wardrobe just for her clothes…

whatever it is, i’m looking forward to the Singapore trip i’m going with my family next weekend..shopping,shopping and more shopping!!(hopefully not just window-shopping coz i found out that the currency exchange for SGD are now ard 2.306,ouch!!)well, nevermind, at least it’s all lit up since Christmas is near and maybe just going sightseeing isn’t so bad afterall..

p/s 2 arina - this is fun, i shud be doing it earlier!!

lazy sunday..

December 16th, 2006 by amy118

this is the first time i’ve written a blog..i’ve been thinking of starting one but didn’t really have the chance to do so due to a)no access to computers, except for weekend(my co. does provide computers but no internet..shucks!!) and b)i woudn’t know what to write..but hey, here i am,writing one!!congratulations to me,hehe…nways, actually i’m kinda free today coz my hubby is out playing golf and my lil’ dina is sleeping rite now..the fact is, it’s sunday afternoon and by right i shud be going out shopping rather than sitting here in my bro’s room writing this blog..its not like i dun have anyone to spend the weekend with,in fact my sis and cousins did invite me to watch a movie @ OU (Happy Feet, sure ok,kan..)and my mom said i can leave dina with k.puji if i wanna go.but tho i havent been to a movie like, what, for months??,i dun feel like going off and leave my lil’dina behind, sian dia nanti, dahla daddy dia takde, mummy pegi tengok wayang pulak…hmm..i think i’m beginning to think like a mother…does this means i’m old???nahh..i dun think so..hihih..for me,its all in the mind, and its not like being a mum restrict urself from doing fun things, and the best part is,actually now that i’ve a daughter,i’ve got an excuse to sometimes behave like a child whenever i’m playing with her..its kinda  like an ‘anti-stress’..

things i learn by being a mum:-

  • to be very patient
  • to be understanding
  • look things in a new perspective
  • learn to love & respect my family more, esp.my mom & dad
  • not to be selfish
  • to accept people as they are
  • love myself
